Kumeyaay Lake Campground is located in Mission Trails Regional Park, the largest Open Space Park owned and managed by the City of San Diego Park and Recreation Department. The campground lies in the middle of more than 8,000 acres of chaparral, oak woodlands, mountains, and grasslands. Nestled beside Kumeyaay Lake, the campground offers 46 reservable campsites available for Friday and Saturday night camping on a first-come, first-served basis at $22.78 per night. The campground features picnic tables, fire rings, and BBQ grills. Amenities include restrooms with potable water, sinks, and showers. The surrounding area offers fishing, more than 60 miles of trails for hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding. Located only 20 minutes from downtown San Diego. Day use is available Monday through Thursday. Campers are limited to 2 tents per site, and RVs, campervans, and trailers are only permitted at designated sites. Reservations can be made using credit, debit, or gift cards; cash is not accepted. All cancellations must be made 14 days in advance.
