Kintla Lake
About this site
Kintla Lake Campground is Glacier National Park's most remote frontcountry car camping campground, located in the uppermost northwest section of the park known as the North Fork, approximately 40 miles from the west entrance. The campground features 13 first-come, first-served sites on the shores of Kintla Lake, each with a picnic table and fire ring. Access is via a rough dirt road approximately 14.3 miles north of Polebridge; the road is narrow, winding, and not suitable for RVs or trailers. Each site accommodates up to eight people and two vehicles with a maximum of two tents. The campground is surrounded by trees providing shade and filtered views of the lake and surrounding mountains. During summer season (June 10–September 11), potable water is available via hand pump and vault toilets are provided. Primitive camping is available during shoulder seasons (May 18–June 9 and September 12–October 31) depending on weather and road conditions, though campers must bring their own water during these periods. Due to its remote location, the campground is very quiet and rarely fills, offering tent campers a sense of solitude.
