The Killpecker Sand Dunes Open Play Area Campground is a 10 acre flat on the edge of the Killpecker Sand Dunes Open Play Area, located about 32 miles north of Rock Springs, Wyoming. It contains 2 ADA accessible vault toilets, fire rings, and picnic tables, spread throughout the flat for use as group sites. It is a fee free campground with no reservation system. Glass bottles are prohibited. Speed limits in the campground area are 15 miles per hour. The road to the campground from Rock Springs is an improved dirt road which is typically well maintained. There is no winter maintenance. Additional Info: Managed by Bureau of Land Management as part of the Greater Sand Dunes Area of Critical Environmental Concern.
