Kersey Lake Cabin is a Forest Service rental cabin situated in the Beartooth Mountains within Custer Gallatin National Forest. The cabin provides rustic accommodations in a remote alpine setting near Kersey Lake, a popular hiking destination in Park County, Montana. It is accessible via a 5 km looped trail starting from the Kersey Lake Trailhead off Highway 212 near Cooke City, Montana. Reservations are made through Recreation.gov. Open year-round, though winter access may require snowmobiles or cross-country skis depending on snow conditions. Additional Info: Rustic cabin built for forest rangers, now available for public rental. Offers primitive backcountry experience with basic shelter. Ideal basecamp for hiking, fishing, and wilderness recreation in grizzly bear country.
