Keith J. Charters Traverse City State Park is a 75-acre urban campground located on the east arm of Grand Traverse Bay, 2 miles from downtown Traverse City. The modern campground features three loops (west, central, and east) with wooded sites and tree cover. Amenities include electric hookups (20-, 30-, and 50-amp service), water service, dump stations, modern restrooms with showers, and a playground. The campground offers over 300 reservable sites with options for tent camping, RV camping, and mini cabins. A day-use area with a quarter-mile sandy beach, beach house, and picnic area is located directly across U.S. 31 from the campground, accessible via pedestrian bridge. Pets are allowed, and campfires are permitted. A Michigan Recreation Passport is required for entry.
