Kalispell Island-005
About this site
Kalispell Island Boat-in Campground is located on Kalispell Island on Priest Lake in the Idaho Panhandle National Forests. Site 5 is located in the West Shores area on the west side of the island. All sites are accessible only by boat. The 264-acre island hosts 52 campsites divided among 12 separate camping areas. All sites include picnic tables and fire rings. Eight locations have vault toilets; four require campers to bring portable toilets (buckets available for checkout at Kalispell Bay Boat Launch). No drinking water is available and this is a pack-it-in, pack-it-out facility. The island offers excellent wildlife viewing and bird watching along a 2.5-mile loop trail that circles the island, providing phenomenal lake views. Priest Lake's clear, blue waters reach depths of 300 feet and offer fishing for Mackinaw trout, Dolly Varden, Cutthroat, and Kokanee. Pets must be leashed at all times. 14-day camping limit. Maximum of 10 people per site. Check-out time is 2:00 p.m. Open late May through mid-September.
