Jàk Territorial Park

Jàk Territorial Park is located 3 km south of Inuvik, Northwest Territories, just outside the town of Inuvik. The park features an observation tower with panoramic views of the surrounding scenery and prime bird-watching opportunities for falcons, eagles, and ducks. The park's name comes from the Gwich'in word "Jàk" meaning "berry," reflecting the abundance of cranberries, blueberries, and cloudberries found throughout the park. The campground offers 10 powered campsites and 27 non-powered campsites, along with amenities including washrooms, showers (wheelchair accessible), drinking water, a kitchen shelter, picnic area, and hiking trails. The park is accessible via NWT Highway 8 and marks the northernmost point reachable by RV on the Dempster Highway. Operating season: May 21 – September 9.
