Jackman Park Campsite
About this site
Jackman Park Campground is located on the flanks of Steens Mountain within the Steens Mountain Cooperative Management and Protective Area (CMPA), at 7,800-foot elevation among aspen stands, offering excellent fall color viewing. It features 6 campsites with picnic tables and fire grates, a universal access restroom, drinking water, and a fee station. First-come, first-served; open mid-June through October, weather permitting. High clearance vehicles recommended on Steens Mountain Loop Road. Pack out trash. Nearest services in Fields, Frenchglen, Crane, or Narrows. Ticks, mosquitos, and rattlesnakes may be present in summer. Additional Info: Located near Kiger Gorge Overlook with views of glacially-carved U-shaped valley and wild horses.
