Jack Creek Campground

A campground in the Sierra Madre Range that sees medium use in the summer and fall. Facilities include 16 campsites, 4 are pull-through sites, picnic tables, fire rings, vault toilets, trash service and water. The campground has a 14 day stay limit. Jack Creek Guard Station and Jack Creek Crew Quarters are nearby. This campground has primitive roads in the area for OHV riding. Both motorized and non-motorized portions of the Continental Divide National Scenic Trail are also in the vicinity. Additional Info: The campground is located at approximately 8,400 feet elevation in the Sierra Madre Range of Medicine Bow-Routt National Forest. It operates seasonally from mid-June through late October, weather permitting. No hookup services are available. Potable water is not available at the Shoshone NF location; however, water access varies by source documentation. The area offers extensive recreation including fishing in over 100 nearby lakes and streams, hiking and backpacking through the Platte River and Savage Run Wilderness areas, and wildlife viewing. This is grizzly bear country; practice safe food storage techniques.
