Ice Hole Campground Site 5 is a standard nonelectric campsite in Ice Hole Campground, Boise National Forest. The campground offers 10 campsites in a peaceful, remote setting near mountain slopes covered in dense pine forest along Johnson Creek, a tributary of the South Fork Salmon River. It sits in a pretty mountain meadow. Peak season is early June through late September. Accessed by most vehicles via FS road 413, though the road is narrow and rough in spots. Near trailheads into Frank Church-River of No Return Wilderness. Popular for hiking, mountain biking, equestrian use, fishing, berry picking, and hunting in season. Additional Info: Renovated in 2019 with built-in grills and tent pads. First-come, first-served. Vault toilets, picnic tables, fire rings, and drinking water available.
