Hurricane Creek Horse & Primitive Campground
About this site
This primitive camping area is located in the midst of a multitude of trails for hikers and horseback riders. A horse camp is available with stalls. A vault toilet and fire rings are available. Access to horse trails is available directly from the horse camp. Big and small game hunting occurs in the surrounding area. General Information March 15 - January 1 Horses are permitted only in the horse camp area and on trails. Fires are permitted only in fire rings. No camping within 50 feet of water. $6 per camping unit on a first come, first serve basis Additional Info: 6 first-come, first-served sites in Nantahala National Forest near Standing Indian Basin. No potable water, showers, or hookups. Access via 2-mile gravel road.
