House Lake State Forest Campground
About this site
This secluded, rustic campground is home to 41 campsites near the Gladwin Field Trail Area. The campground is split into two loops. The area offers excellent fishing, hiking and paddling opportunities. There is trail access to the nearby Trout Lake Pathway, which is a beautiful 2.8-mile loop. The campground neighbors Trout Lake State Forest Campground to the north. There are 41 campsites available, 35 of which will accommodate a 40-foot vehicle/trailer. The campground is located 17 miles north of Gladwin via M-18 N and Adams Road. These rustic campgrounds offer stunning river and lakefront settings, perfect for fishing, boating, and paddling. Sites available on a first-come, first-served basis. There are vault toilets. Potable (drinking) water is available from a hand-pump well. No electrical available. Overnight fees ($20 for most sites) and registration procedures are posted at the information kiosk at each campground. Camping is limited to a 15-day maximum stay. One camping unit and six people are allowed per site. Additional Info: Open year-round; seasonal roads and campground loops are not plowed in winter. A gravel boat launch is located on Hoister Lake, near House Lake. Explore Hoister Lake and Trout Lake, a short distance away from House Lake campground. Boat launches are on the south side of both lakes. Electric motors, kayaks and canoes are permitted. This rustic campground is located on House Lake. There is water access to House Lake and Hoister Lake from both loops of House Lake campground.
