Horseshoe Pond Campground

Horseshoe Pond Campground is a municipal campground located at the south edge of Maquoketa, Iowa (905 South Main). Originally constructed in the 1930s by the Izaak Walton League, the property was acquired by the City of Maquoketa in 1985. The campground features 22 electrical sites on gravel pads with picnic tables and fire rings. Amenities include clean restrooms with showers, a fishing pond, playground, boat launch, and a sanitary dump station with potable water. Sites are first-come, first-served or can be reserved up to one year in advance through Maquoketa City Hall. The campground is pet-friendly and closed from October through April 15.
