Overview Hopewell Boat Access campground is available on a first-come, first-served basis only. Visitors are required to physically arrive at the campground to purchase and claim a site. Once on-site, you may be able to pay for your campsite(s) with a fee envelope and pay tube or, by scanning a QR code using the Recreation.gov mobile app, and the Scan and Pay feature. If this option is available, you will need to first download the free Recreation.gov mobile app https://www.recreation.gov/mobile-app prior to your arrival as some remote areas have limited or no cellular service. Additional Info: This small rustic campground is located on the east bank of the Allegheny Reservoir just north of Sugar Bay. It is accessible by boat or via hiking trail (North Country National Scenic Trail with connections to the Tracy Ridge Trail System). The campground has 20 sites and features vault toilets and fire rings. Visitors must bring their own water as no potable water is available. The closest boat launch is Roper Hollow directly across the reservoir on the west bank and Kinzua Wolf Run Marina approximately 5 miles south near State Route 59 at the Morrison Bridge. Pets are not permitted. Campfires are allowed if maintained in a fire ring and fully extinguished when unattended. The campground is open May 1 - October 31, with quiet hours from 10:00 pm to 6:00 am.
