Homolovi State Park Campground
About this site
Homolovi State Park Campground is a developed state‑park campground located in the high desert of northern Arizona, just off I‑40 near Winslow. The campground offers 53 single‑family campsites suitable for both RVs and tents, with most sites providing electric and water hookups and some non‑electric sites available. Sites are on well‑graded gravel with flat tent pads and covered picnic tables, and the campground can accommodate large rigs up to about 83 feet on paved pull‑through spots. Amenities include clean restrooms with free hot showers, potable water stations, and a dump station for RVs. The park sits at about 4,900 feet elevation in an open, sandy desert landscape with limited natural shade, so sun protection is recommended. Campers are within walking distance of ancient Pueblo ruins and can explore multiple archaeological sites, trails, and a visitor center and museum focused on Hopi heritage. The campground is pet‑friendly and operates year‑round, with reservations required and self‑pay no longer accepted. Additional Info: Homolovi State Park Campground is part of Homolovi State Park, which preserves ancestral Hopi villages and offers hiking, wildlife viewing, and stargazing in a high‑desert setting. The park is just minutes from downtown Winslow and within easy driving distance of Petrified Forest National Park and other regional attractions.
