Homer Lake Campsite 2 (#2171) is on the east end of the small island near mid-lake in Superior National Forest. This USFS site is outside the BWCA, so no permit is required. Access is by boat or foot from Entry Point 40 on the east end of the lake. The lake has three campsites total: one on the south shore (outside BWCA), this island site (outside BWCA), and one on the west end (inside BWCA, permit required). Nine people maximum per site. Pack out garbage; use only provided facilities for fires, tents, and waste.
