15 campsites along the North Fork of the Sun River. Good fishing for rainbow and west slope cutthroat trout. Hiking nearby on the Mortimer Gulch National Recreation Trail. Motorized and non-motorized boat access at the boat launch. Bears may frequent the area; keep all food out of sight in approved containers and remove all food from area after eating. Mandatory food storage is required. Additional Info: Situated at an elevation of 4,580 feet between two dramatic cliffs. Most sites overlook the river and are shaded by aspen and alder trees. Interior road is narrow with a maximum trailer length of 35 feet. Operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no advance reservations. Basic amenities include vault toilets, fire rings, and tables at each site. No cell service (AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile). Typically open late spring through early fall depending on snow conditions and road access.
