Hog Island Campground is located within the Croom Tract of Withlacoochee State Forest (Sumter County), and is approximately 15 miles from Brooksville. On the bank of the Withlacoochee River, this campground is a peaceful, paddlers paradise. Other recreational activities include: fishing, wildlife viewing, and hiking. CAMPSITE #21 IS CANOE/PADDLE IN ONLY, NO VEHICLE ACCESS. Additional Info: 18-20 sites, mostly drive-in with water access, spacious and wooded for privacy. Concrete boat ramp and day use area with picnic table nearby. Bathhouses with showers, flush toilets, and running water. $15 per night. Reservations available via ReserveAmerica. No electric or sewer hookups at sites. Pets allowed with restrictions. No alcohol or hunting in campground.
