Warning - Campsite is experiencing flooding due to high water table- Use is not recommended. A narrow winding road leads to this lake named after cowboy author Rich Hobson, Suitable for small cartop or canoe only. No trailer boat launching. Please observe posted angling restrictions. Additional Info: Hobson Lake is the uppermost lake on the Clearwater River in east-central British Columbia and one of the six major lakes in Wells Gray Provincial Park. Rental canoes are available by prior arrangement with Clearwater Lake Tours. Access by air is restricted and requires a special permit from B.C. Parks to land a float plane or helicopter. A major hazard is fording Lickskillet Creek, as Sundt Falls (40 m high) is located just downstream.
