Hittle Bottom Recreation Site
About this site
Hittle Bottom Recreation Site is located on the banks of the Colorado River along scenic Highway 128, approximately 23 miles northeast of Moab, Utah. The campground features 15 campsites spread along the river with striking views of Fisher Towers, Professor Valley, and the Colorado River. All sites are primitive with no electrical, water, or sewer hookups. Amenities include vault toilets, picnic tables, fire rings, and a shade shelter. A boat ramp is available for river access. The site is a popular launch point for river trips and offers access to hiking, mountain biking, and four-wheel drive trails. Arches National Park is approximately 45 minutes away and Canyonlands National Park is about one hour away. The campground is open year-round with peak season from April to October. Note: No water is available on-site; water can be obtained at Lions Park near the Highway 191/128 junction or at Gearheads Outdoor Store in downtown Moab.
