High North 8
About this site
High North Camping Area (also referred to as High North Campground) is a BLM-managed site in Rabbit Valley/McInnis Canyons National Conservation Area near Mack, Colorado. It features 10-15 designated campsites marked by numbered posts, suitable for tents, trailers, and fifth-wheels, with picnic tables and fire rings at each site. There is one vault toilet available, but no drinking water, showers, dump station, or hookups—campers must pack out all trash and bring their own water. Access requires 4WD recommended due to steep, narrow dirt roads off Rabbit Valley Rd north of I-70; an alternate route via Old US Highway 6 is available. Sites are first-come, first-served with a 7-14 day camping limit. Stunning views of the Colorado River Valley and McInnis Canyons, though OHV noise and dust may be present. Additional Info: Sites are somewhat level but may have dips and rocks; best visited mid-week to avoid crowds.
