High Bluff Campground is located on the northern shore of Lake Talquin within Lake Talquin State Forest in Gadsden County, approximately 20 miles west of Tallahassee, FL. The campground features 19-25 primitive campsites accessible to both tents and RVs, with no electric or water hookups. Each site is equipped with a picnic table and fire ring or grill. Maximum driveway lengths range from 24 to 36 feet depending on the site, with each site accommodating up to 8 people. Facilities include vault restroom facilities, a fishing pier, and a boat ramp for lake access. Horse camping is permitted for self-sufficient campers who bring their own portable corrals or tie-outs. The surrounding forest features dramatic topography with elevation changes of up to 100 feet and includes portions of the Florida Scenic Trail and Great Florida Birding and Wildlife Trail. Lake Talquin provides excellent freshwater fishing opportunities accessible from shore or by boat. Recreational activities include fishing, boating, canoeing, kayaking, hiking, picnicking, bird watching, and wildlife viewing.
