Hickison Petroglyph Recreation Area - camp sites Additional Info: Free, first-come, first-served BLM campground with approximately 16-17 sites at 6,500 feet elevation in Nevada's Big Smoky Valley. Sites accommodate tents, trailers, and RVs with gravel parking spurs, picnic tables, fire rings, and grills. Some sites have shade ramadas or tree shade. Vault toilets and trash collection available. No water, hookups, or dump station. Features a half-mile interpretive trail with petroglyphs dating to nearly 10,000 years ago, with portions offering ADA accessibility. 14-day stay limit. Pets allowed. No cell service. Nearest water and supplies in Austin or Eureka.
