Primitive dispersed campsites are available along Rainy Creek Road (FS Road 506) near the East Portal trailhead of the Route of the Hiawatha, accessible from I-90 Exit 5 at Taft, Montana. Additional primitive streamside sites are found along Loop Creek, FS Road 326, and North Fork St. Joe River near the Pearson trailhead.
