Hermit Island Campground is a rustic, family-friendly campground on Hermit Island in Phippsburg, Maine, accessible by driving across a sand causeway. It offers 270-275 tent and small camper sites (max 25ft, no motorhomes or large trailers), each with a fire pit, picnic table, space for gear, and parking for one vehicle. Amenities include free hot showers, flushing toilets, composting toilets, pit toilets, potable water, camp store, rec hall with pool table and games, laundry, snack bar, and hiking trails to private beaches. No hookups or additional vehicle parking. Reservations required; no visitors allowed. Additional Info: Closed October 14 to mid-May. Seasonal operation May to October.
