Helmer Lake is a year round recreation lake located north of Merritt, BC, Canada. The only campground in the region accessing the trails and the lakes is located on Helmer Lake. Helmer Lake is a popular destination for fishing, camping, canoeing, boating and off roading during the spring and summer months. The 15 hectare lake is stocked with Rainbow Trout. There is a boat launch in the small recreation campground located on the south end of lake. The 3 campsites are booked on a first-come first-serve basis. The wilderness campsites include fire pits and some have picnic tables. The pit toilets are located in the trees. Additional Info: Located just off the Coquihalla Highway with access via Helmer exit or nearby Exit 336. Managed as a Recreation Site by Recreation Sites and Trails BC.
