Helen Lake offers 2 fair campsites in the Seven Lakes Basin of Shasta-Trinity National Forest. Access is via South Fork Road (Road 26) from Mt. Shasta City, approximately 20 miles by road and trail, or a short walk from Road 38N61. Wood is hard to find due to high elevation (6,700'). The lake is owned by Sierra Pacific Industries: Motorized access may be restricted; pedestrian access at own risk; no campfires during fire season, permit required outside; pack out trash.
