Dispersed camping Additional Info: One of 50 designated dispersed campsites at Hartman Rocks Recreation Area, a 14,000-acre BLM recreation area near Gunnison, Colorado. All sites are first come, first serve with no fees. Dry/primitive campsites with no hookups, potable water, or developed facilities. Accessible restrooms are located at The Base Area and at the intersection of BLM Roads 3505 and 3500. The area features 45 miles of singletrack trail, 45 miles of roads, and numerous climbing crags. Roads and trails south of Powerline Road are closed to motorized and mechanized vehicles from March 15 to May 15 for Gunnison Sage-grouse conservation.
