Hardscrabble Horse Camp is located at the end of the Dutch Miller Gap Trail #1030, approximately 7.7 miles from the Dutch Miller Gap Trailhead gate at Dingford Creek. The route follows the closed Forest Service Road 56 along the Middle Fork Snoqualmie River, crossing a footbridge at mile 4.5 before climbing steeply to the camp with views of rockslides, waterfalls, and jagged peaks. Beyond the camp, the road ends, bicycles are prohibited, and the trail enters the Alpine Lakes Wilderness.
