Additional Info: Hannan Dispersed is a primitive, undeveloped dispersed camping area in the Helena-Lewis and Clark National Forest, Teton County, Montana. No amenities or facilities are provided, including no toilets, picnic tables, trash collection, treated water, or fire grates. Campers must be completely self-sufficient. Dispersed camping is permitted except where posted closed, within 200 feet of developed roads, trails or facilities, or where overnight parking is prohibited. Use existing hardened campsites when available. All waste must be packed out following Leave No Trace principles. Maximum stay is 16 consecutive days. Access via Sun Canyon Road 208 northwest from Augusta for 22.5 miles, then north on gravel road, cross Sun River, proceed 0.5 mile to road fork, take east fork and park well off the road. Open year-round when roads are passable; winter access may be limited by snow and seasonal closures.
