Halfway Group Campground

Halfway Group Campground is located in Sequoia National Forest along the Kern River, 4.5 miles north of Kernville at an elevation of 3,200 feet. The campground offers five group tent sites with picnic tables and fire rings. Amenities include vault toilets and trash collection. There is no drinking water or hookups available. Group sites 3, 4, and 5 have shade shelters. The area features gray pine, scrub oak, and riparian vegetation along the Wild and Scenic Kern River. Popular activities include river rafting, kayaking, fishing, hiking, mountain biking, and wildlife viewing. The campground is open year-round and is reservable up to 6 months in advance.
