About this site
Gypsum Valley Recreation Site is a remote BLM campground located approximately 50 miles north of Dove Creek, Colorado, in the Dolores River Canyon area. The site features three designated campsites with rock fire rings and shade shelters. It serves primarily as a boat launch for the Dolores River flowing through the Dolores River Canyon Wilderness Study Area. There are no other services or facilities for camping. Popular activities include boating, rock climbing, OHV touring, and hiking. The site is free and operates on a first-come, first-served basis.
