Gypsum Campground
About this site
Gypsum Campground is a BLM-managed site located along the Eagle River and readily accessible from Interstate Highway 70 (Exit 140). The campground is open May 15 - November 15 annually. There is no reservation system; campsites are occupied on a first come, first serve basis. The site features 8-10 campsites with fire rings and picnic tables, vault toilets, and parking at each site. Some sites have shade. The area is near an inactive volcanic crater and lava flow at Dotsero. Fishing is popular on the Eagle River. Additional Info: Stay limits: May-August 7 days; September-November 14 days. Elevation approximately 6,250 feet. Located about 1.5 miles south of Gypsum town center, 30 minutes from Beaver Creek, and 45 minutes from Vail.
