Overview This location is available on a first-come, first-served basis only. Visitors are required to physically arrive at the campground to purchase and claim a site. Once on-site, you may be able to pay for your campsite(s) by scanning a QR code using the Recreation.gov mobile app, and the Scan and Pay feature. If this option is available, you will need to first download the free Recreation.gov mobile app https://www.recreation.gov/mobile-app prior to your arrival as some remote areas have limited or no cellular service. Additional Info: Gum Springs Campground is located in hilly terrain with natural springs in the Winn Ranger District of Kisatchie National Forest, 8 miles west of Winnfield, Louisiana. The recreation area showcases historic design and construction from the Civilian Conservation Corps era of the 1930s. Sites are $10 per night and include fire rings, tent pads, and picnic tables. Amenities include vault toilets, drinking water from faucets, and trash receptacles. An 11-acre lake offers bank fishing and non-motorized boating opportunities. The adjacent day-use area is free. Quiet hours are enforced from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., and dogs must be leashed at all times. The campground is close to Gum Springs Horse Camp and Trail.
