overnight shelter located on the Appalachian National Scenic Trail and coincident Long Trail Additional Info: Primitive wooden shelter accommodating approximately 6 hikers. Located within the Robert T. Stafford White Rocks National Recreation Area in southern Vermont's Green Mountain National Forest. Accessed via a 0.2-mile blue-blazed side trail from the main trail corridor. Water source (spring) located approximately 80 yards on a blue-blazed trail in front of the shelter but is known to go dry during drier periods. Privy available. Open year-round on a first-come, first-served basis with no advance reservations. Elevation 2,025 feet.
