Grasslands National Park Backcountry Sites
About this site
Grasslands National Park allows random backcountry camping throughout most of the park (at least 1km away from all marked trails). See site for full details. No water access: any water source is foul or heavily saline, or may be fully dried up in the summer. No shade or cover. No fires allowed. During fire bans, camp stoves may also be banned. Wildlife at large: bison roam freely through the park and rattlesnakes breed in certain areas. Park is a dark sky preserve with incredible stargazing views.
