Grass Lake State Forest Campground

Grass Lake State Forest Campground is a 15-site rustic campground located on Grass Lake Flooding with access to the Betsie River, managed by Colfax Township. The campground is open year-round and offers first-come, first-served camping with no reservations. Amenities include vault toilets, hand-pump drinking water, fire rings, and picnic tables. Sites are suitable for tent and small trailer use. The campground provides access to boating, canoeing, and fishing opportunities on Grass Lake Flooding (bass, perch, bluegill) and the Betsie River (trout). A Recreation Passport (Michigan state park motor vehicle permit) is required for vehicle entry. Camping is limited to a 15-day maximum stay, with one camping unit and six people allowed per site. Located 10 miles northeast of Thompsonville via County Road 669 and Wallin Road.
