About this site
Primitive roadside backcountry campsite in Big Bend National Park. Accommodates 2 vehicles and 6 people maximum. Maximum vehicle length is 25 feet; no trailers allowed. Site offers nice views and solitude with a small flat gravel space to set up camp next to your vehicle. No shade, toilets, water, or other amenities provided. Generators are prohibited. The road to this site is very rough and requires a sturdy high-clearance vehicle; do not attempt with passenger cars, minivans, RVs, or trailers. Located 7.7 miles from pavement on Grapevine Hills Road, which begins 3 miles west of Panther Junction. Backcountry permit required; reservations available up to 180 days in advance through Recreation.gov.
