The Grand Marais municipal campground is the ideal base camp for access to Lake Superior and the surrounding region. Located adjacent to the harbor, campers are footsteps away from downtown Grand Marais. As part of the Grand Marais Recreation Area, the campground includes: Sweetheart's Bluff nature area, cobblestone beaches, harbor break wall, public water access, 4 clean bathhouses, ball field, playground, two harbor side pavilions, Rec Hall, community garden, Gitchi-Gami bike trail connections, and cozy office with free coffee and wi-fi. Full spectrum of camping options across 296 total sites. Full hook-up and electric/water RV sites. Lakeside and Wooded tent sites. Each site offers a picnic table and campfire vessel. Nightly, Weekly and Monthly rates. Reservable and Drop-In sites. Full service bath houses with water at sites May to mid October. Reservations recommended June - September. Open Year Round. Additional Info: 300 campsites total. Marina with 30 slips, mooring buoys, fuel, and pump-out services. RV dump station. Two public water access ramps. Playground with horseshoes and basketball. Over a mile of shoreline. Wi-Fi, firewood, ice, and supplies available at office.
