Government Landing
About this site
Government Landing is a designated dispersed camping area along the Upper Manistee River in Huron-Manistee National Forest, named for nearby Government Island. It offers 3-7 primitive sites (sources vary slightly), each with a picnic table, fire ring, and lantern hook. A vault toilet is within walking distance. A boat ramp provides river access. No potable water, hookups, or reservations; first-come, first-served. Open April 1 to November 30. Additional Info: Part of the 41 designated dispersed sites along the Upper Manistee River. Managed by U.S. Forest Service. Max 8 people and 2 vehicles per site. Max vehicle length 20 ft.
