About this site

Gorman Lake is a beautiful alpine lake situated in a deep bowl. The site has 2 tent pads and tables and a fly out toilet. There are trails that loop the lake. The trail on the north side is recommended as it is safer and less exposed to rock fall. It is about 800 meters long. The area is a signature designation for hiking and sledding out of Golden. Note bikes and motor vehicles are restricted from using the area in the snow free months. The Golden Snowmobile Club is under agreement to maintain the Dogtooth Forest Service Road and the Gorman Lake road for snowmobile use during the winter. Additional Info: Access via rough 17km Gorman FSR requiring high clearance vehicle. Trail to lake is approximately 7-8km round trip with 300m elevation gain through forest, boggy section, and boulder field.
