Golden Stairs Campsite is a designated backpacking site at the trailhead in the Maze District of Canyonlands National Park. It serves as the starting point for the Golden Stairs Trail, accessible via rough 4WD roads like the Flint Trail and Standing Rock Road. The site offers solitude with views amid junipers and rocks, suitable for overnight stays during multi-day backpacking loops. Pets are not allowed on the trail. No fees are required for camping. Additional Info: Built around 1900 by ranchers for moving livestock; trail relocated by NPS to reduce erosion.
