Golden Pond Visitor Center

Golden Pond Visitor Center is the main information hub for Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area, a 170,000-acre natural area located on a peninsula between Kentucky and Barkley Lakes in western Kentucky and Tennessee. The visitor center offers maps, brochures, exhibits on the area's history, restrooms, a gift shop, and access to nearby trails and picnic areas. A planetarium with daily shows is also located at the center. Several primitive camping sites are available within the recreation area, with permits available year-round at the visitor center. The area features over 500 miles of scenic hiking trails, 300 miles of natural shoreline, and attractions including the Elk and Bison Prairie and the Homeplace 1850s Working Farm and History Museum.
