About this site

This campground provides access to hiking, horseback riding, fishing and four-wheel driving. The site lies next to the southeastern boundary of the Fossil Ridge Wilderness Area. This natural area is a haven for hikers, backpackers and equestrians. (No mechanized or motorized vehicles are permitted within its boundaries.) Several alpine lakes lie near the campground and allow anglers to fish in the natural beauty of the Rocky Mountain highlands. The landscape is spruce/fir and aspen trees. This is bear country, must practice safe food storage techniques. Additional Info: First come, first served campground with 6 primitive sites, each with picnic table, fire ring, and grill. Vault toilets available. No potable water. Quiet hours 10pm-6am. Best suited for tent camping. Season typically late May to early October. Located near Lamphier Creek and Gold Creek at ~10,000 ft elevation. No cell service.
