Gillis Lake West - BC Recreation Site
About this site
Gillis Lake West is a rustic backcountry recreation site in the Nicola Valley near Merritt, BC. The treed and shady site is directly adjacent to the north shore of the lake and is popular with fishermen, hunters, and campers. The site features a small boat launch for paddling, rowing, or motoring. Camping spots are not large and are more suitable for smaller trailers, truck campers, and tents; the site is not accommodating to large units. Visitors can explore the area by walking old forestry roads for hiking and should arrive early in summer to secure a shaded campsite. The site operates on a first-come, first-served basis.
