Gaviota Campground

Gaviota State Park Campground is located approximately 33 miles north of Santa Barbara on U.S. Highway 101, near Goleta, California. The campground features 40 campsites, some operating on a first-come, first-serve basis. Each site includes a picnic table, fire pit with grill, large trash can, and kitchenette table. Amenities include bathrooms with hot showers and rustic outdoor facilities. The campground offers beach access and is known for excellent night sky views of the Milky Way. Nearby attractions include hiking trails, a riverbed, and a quail guzzler. The area is notably windy, particularly after sunset with gusts of 30-50 mph, requiring proper tent staking. Gophers are common in the area.
