FS Trail 286 (Myrtle Peak/Lake Access)

Myrtle Peak Trail #286 is a scenic hiking trail in the Idaho Panhandle National Forests that leads to Myrtle Lake, one of the largest high mountain lakes in Boundary County. Campsites are available at the lake. The trail passes through mixed coniferous forest, open rocky areas, and ridge tops with views of the Selkirks. No restrooms, drinking water, showers, or other facilities are available at the site. Horses/pack animals are allowed. Additional Info: Trail distance approximately 4.5 miles one way to the lake with 1,700 feet elevation change. Road #2406 to trailhead requires high clearance vehicle.
