FS Trail 268 (Two Mouth Lakes Access)

Backpacking access to Two Mouth Lakes via Trail #268 from a trailhead off Forest Road 663 near Bonners Ferry, Idaho. The trail begins as an old logging road heading north, then narrows and alternates between dirt and boardwalk while following Peak Creek drainage. The route reaches the Selkirk Crest at approximately 3.6 miles with views of glacier-carved peaks to the north and Bonners Ferry Valley to the east. Campsites are located at the lakes basin, with prime sites situated next to the lake and high enough to stay dry. Distance to Upper Two Mouth Lake is approximately 9-13.8 miles round trip with elevation gain of 1,790-2,037 feet. The area offers fishing, hiking, and swimming opportunities.
