Trailhead for Myrtle Peak - Pack River Trail #6, which provides hiking access to Harrison Lake from the Bonners Ferry area. The trail is approximately 4.5 miles long with 1,400 feet of elevation gain. It transitions through brushy, open areas, old fir and spruce stands, and rocky terrain. The trail follows an old road for about 0.5 miles before crossing a 20-foot-wide stream, then switchbacks up a moderate 20% grade. Wildlife viewing opportunities include deer, bear, occasionally elk, marmots, pikas, and various birds. No restrooms available at the trailhead. Open mid-June to October (weather permitting). Horse and pack animals are allowed.
