Hyalite Below Dam Camping is a designated dispersed camping site along Hyalite Canyon Road (FR 62) in the Hyalite Recreation Area of the Custer Gallatin National Forest. Located below Hyalite Dam at approximately 5,000 feet elevation, it provides access to fishing, hiking, rock climbing, and waterfall viewing in Hyalite Canyon. Open year-round on a first-come, first-served basis. Hyalite Canyon Road is closed to motorized vehicles from April 1 through May 15 but open to non-motorized access.
